Friends of Flockton School (FOFS) is a Friends’ Association. As we are a Friends’ Association, rather than the more common Parent and Teacher Association (PTA), we can extend a welcome to a much wider group of people to join us in our attempts to raise funds for the school. We welcome anyone connected with the school at our meetings. This includes parents, teachers, grandparents, school helpers, carers and other members of the local community. We meet on a fairly regular basis, usually once every 6 weeks, depending on the next event in the pipeline.
How to get involved
There are many ways to be involved with the group. You do not have to be a member of the committee to attend the regular meetings. Meetings are open to anyone who wishes to come and join in, the more the merrier. Equally, we understand that meetings and committees are not everyone’s cup of tea. So you may wish to just volunteer your services when FOFS are organising an event. This kind of involvement is invaluable as we always need extra pairs of hands! We will send details of events out in newsletters and will put notices on this board.
If you would like any more information about FOFS please contact Claire Lockwood or Cassie Padgett or call the school office.
Spooky Disco
There were some spooky goings-on a this Spooky Disco organised by FOF. The children had a fantastic time dancing and having FUN!
McMillan Coffee Morning
An outstanding amount was raised through the Macmillian coffee morning. Thank you to all those parents and community members that attended and made it such a successful event.
FOF recently generously paid for the magic show to treat all our pupils during remote learning.
