In 2024, Flockton was recognised as a Beacon School for Music by Kirklees Musica.

At Flockton School we are very passionate about all things musical.  We love singing and performing and it is a huge part of life at Flockton School. We have a very talented workforce who are all very creative.  Music is led by Mrs Delaney who teaches Sycamore and Elder Class on a Wednesday.  Music is taught by our talented Mrs Horwood in Reception and Year 1.  Music lessons are very much a highlight on the weekly timetable.  This year we have bought every child in Year 2 upwards a ukelele.  These pupils have a ukelele lesson each week.  We also love singing and sing from the heart during daily Worship and during visits to church.   It is a pleasure to hear the children's voices cascading through school.  Each year we take part in the Huddersfield Music Festival and we aim to be part of the Young Voices Choir in the future.  Each year every child has the opportunity to take part in a class or whole school production and celebrations in church.
